David Archeletta of Season 7 started us off with his version of 'Imagine' by the Beatles. He's been busy writing songs for his next album and his hit single is due out any time. I rooted for him in Season 7 and enjoyed his performance tonight.

With lights dimmed low we learned that the remaining three girls, Katie, Siobhan and Crystal, remain safe. Girl Power all the way! 

Then we heard from Kara Dioguardia's newest discovery, Jason Derulo, singing his hit single 'In My Head' from his self-titled album. I've never heard of him before and I wouldn't mind hearing him again. 

Just to stretch the suspense a little further, we waited through another performance before getting to the results. Rhianna performed her hit 'I'm a Rock Star' then Ryan narrowed down the Bottom 3. 

Sadly, Aaron, Mike and Andrew were shown to the left side of the stage, and after yet another commercial break we found out that Aaron Kelly was safe. Michael Lynch or Andrew Garcia is in danger of elimination with the judges’ 'save' unused so far. “Who will survive?” intones Ryan Seacrest. It turns out that Andrew stays safe and Mike has to sing for his life. With his wife crying in the audience, Mike sings his heart out and I'm sure he gained the love and respect of a few more voters. Then with an unexpected Idol twist, the judges save him! Even I, the cynical viewer, never expected that one! 

I'm sure the rest of the Idols were thinking it - are TWO going to get eliminated next week?  That is going to be a tough show. 

Well, Idol fans, it’s the end of another week. Stay tuned next week as Adam Lambert from last season will be the 'Mentor' on Tuesday, April 13. I'm sure he'll have them all in eye-liner by the end of the show.
