It’s the end of another season of American Idol and the end of Simon Cowell's reign as judge.
If you happen to be a fan of the 60's, 70's and 80's genre of music, then this finale was for you. Don't get me wrong: all of these musicians are great and I grew up knowing their songs, but when the Idol contestants can out-sing these iconic artists, there might be something wrong.

As we near the end of the Idol season, I think back to how it started and the points in between. With the audition segment of the show, there was much laughter----remember the guy-with-the-pants-falling-down song? A classic moment that will live down in Idol history and probably be replayed over and over again.
Home Sweet Home

Last night we found out who the two finalists will be next week and take a trip home with the top three. To start with, Ryan sat all three down for an impromptu interview. They all agreed how amazing and surreal this whole experience has been and I learned that they work all week leading up to each show. It sounds like it’s much harder than it looks, but at the same time, it’s a very valuable learning experience. Which, in my opinion, is priceless.

By this time we have a pretty good sense of what's at stake for each of the remaining Idol contestants. We know how bad they want it. We have a sense of why they want it and we even know how hard they'll work and how much they'll sacrifice to get it.
In addition to performances from Fantasia, Daughtry and Bon Jovi we also faced a tough good-bye. After Fantasia's performance, a cute Ford commercial and clips from past Idol's trips' to their hometowns, we learned that Casey James will return to Texas with all the flash and fanfare that only American Idol is capable of.
The last stand

After four months, we are at the last stage performance for the remaining three 'Idol' hopefuls. The contestants picked one song and the judges picked the other one. For the most part, the Idols picked well, but it seemed very clear who were going to be the last two standing tomorrow.
