'The Tale of Snow White' – Maranatha Medieval Dinner Theatre
| Arts & Entertainment |
Maranatha Christian School presents a Medieval Dinner Theatre, April 8 and 9 at 6:00pm. The evening’s entertainment will include a number of musical selections by students, as well as a performance of the play 'The Tale of Snow White', a spoof on the fairytale classic. The cast includes students from grades 8-12, many of whom were recently in the school’s production of 'A Pirate’s Life for Me'.
'The Tale of Snow White' is a fresh and funny adaptation which will make even the most jaded folks laugh out loud as it expands the Brothers Grimm tale with new characters who have always lived between the lines of the classic fairy tale. This version, using a fun frame story of a contemporary mom reading to her bickering children, is loaded with bright new faces and comedic twists.

The audience meets a gaggle of forest animals, friendly Dwarf Villagers, a troupe of ladies-in-waiting with a penchant for limericks, the Huntsman’s squabbling conscience and even a nerdy governmental representative trying to keep the forest dwellers from ruining the environment.
The evening will include not only quality entertainment, but a fabulous three course meal prepared by staff and parents, and served by the performers. This event is a fundraiser used to help students travel to Europe on an educational tour. Students are working towards a trip taking place in March 2013, where all students currently in grades 8-10, are eligible to go.
Tickets are $12.00 each, and are available at the Maranatha Christian School office. Donations will be collected the night of the Dinner Theatre, with all proceeds going towards the trip. Each night is limited to 75 seats, so be sure to get your tickets soon.
