Cariboo filmaker screens music video this weekend

This Saturday marks the culmination of eight months of preparation and work by HunCity Productions, when Run Outta Road premieres at the South Cariboo Theatre October 29. Run Outta Road is a music video featuring an original song by local musicians Laura Kelsey and Peter Thorne.
The project started last February when HunCity Productions producer Charles Jones was filming a Hootenanny Cafe in Forest Grove, B.C. During the event, Laura and Peter performed 'Run Outta Road'.

“I was bowled over and was happy to hear that it was an original song,” says Charles. “Producing 'Run Outta Road' with Laura was an awesome opportunity to showcase my filmmaking and Laura's performances.”
Once the song was recorded, mixed and mastered at the Armoury (Vancouver) and Claymore (Abbotsford) studios, video locations were scouted throughout the South Cariboo. Shooting began with the help of a great local crew, who held lights, drove trucks and lent their classic vehicles to the project. 'Roxanne,' George Eburne's 1971 Chevelle SS, and a 1964 Studebaker Wagonaire, owned by Chuck and Karen Douglas, made appearances on set.
The Run Outta Road release and cast/crew thank-you starts October 29 at 4:30pm and will include a performance by Laura Kelsey and local guitar player Doug Steven. The video will officially be released November 1 at laurakelsey.com and huncity.ca.
This will be HunCity Productions' first official release since School's Out?, a feature-length documentary about school closures in Forest Grove and other rural B.C. communities. School's Out? aired on Shaw TV earlier this year.
