Last chance for four

There has been a high percentage of predictability, so far, in this season of American Idol. Tonight it managed to surprise me.
Katelyn Epperly was our first elimination of the night, which was predictable, but I assumed that the second girl would have been Paige Miles. She, however, managed to get the coveted Top 12.
Toderick Hall was the next down for the boys and Tim Urban---who would have been my choice for elimination---got the top spot. With a little break from the highly emotional evening, we heard from last season's Scott MacIntyre and Matt Giraud. They took us back to the 80's with a great duet rendition of Billy Joel's 'Tell Her About It'. Scott has a new original album coming out titled 'Heart Strings' and Matt has a number 1 single.
The next elimination was Alex Lambert, which isn't a shock, but to my surprise it did tug on my heart strings. Poor guy!
In typical TV fashion they left the biggest surprise till last. Katie Stevens and Lily Scott were called to the stage and the whole time Katie is fighting tears, almost like she expected to be next for elimination, and so did I. Then they said Lily's name instead! I'm still reeling from the shock. She took it like the true class act that she is, and the look of surprise on Katie's face was priceless.
Lily summed up her experience on Idol quite well: “I put my heart into every performance: what does America want to hear? But that's OK, I know there's an audience out there for me.”
If you believe in yourself, there's an audience for you, too. Have a great weekend, Idol fans: see you next week for the Top 12!
