RCMPshield_crest2Update on missing chip truck driver, David Kemshaw

Updated:  Tuesday, 29 December 2009 15:15  -  Dennis England, owner of OTH Enterprises in Quesnel, said that the trucks are all equipped with a GPS system, and that the missing truck was tracked using that equipment. “They use it for things like tracking distance, time, speed and brake applications, but not usually for tracking a missing truck,” he said. “This is the first time for me.”

He also said that he knows the driver, David Kemshaw. “In my opinion it was pretty unusual for him to disappear, and especially for that length of time---I’m glad he was found.”

Trucks equipped with the GPS unit can be tracked whether or not the truck is running, and over the Christmas holidays, it is reported that other truckers noticed the missing truck parked at a Chevron station in Prince George.

Updated:  Tuesday, 29 December 2009 11:44  -  David Kemshaw, who was reported missing on December 22, 2009, has been located safe and sound by Prince George RCMP this morning.  The missing truck was also located.
