Everyone benefits when the Pentecostal Church holds its annual Christmas bake sale. Shoppers can find world-famous peanut brittle and other Christmas delicacies, enjoy an auction, knowing that the proceeds go to a variety of great causes.
“The money goes to buy blankets for the homeless that Cariboo Friendship hands out, and to food baskets for families,” explained Diane Zotzman, who is the pastor’s wife and much, much more. “We also sponsor an orphanage in India, a teen pregnancy program and a home for homeless and abused children.”
She explained that this year there will be a new cause on the list. “One of our members has a son who has benefitted a lot from the 139 Children’s Fundraising Society, and we decided to combine forces for the bake sale/auction and share the proceeds,” she said.
The bake sale and auction started today at 10am at Boitanio Mall and continues through Moonlight Madness until 11pm and tomorrow until 3pm, with a table at Walmart today as well.
She said that the community is warmly invited to enjoy the annual Christmas concert at the Pentecostal Church at 1pm on December 13.
