RCMPshield_crest2Williams Lake RCMP Inspector Warren Brown announced yesterday that there is a new Community Policing board, with Andy Sullivan as the new president.

Vice President of the new board is Bob Sunner, Donna Marie Cyr is the treasurer and Harriet Hird is the secretary. Dr. Elmer Thiessen,  Grant Martin, Bob Patterson, Gail Lucier and Sabena Thompson are the new directors. 

Inspector Brown expressed his sincere thanks to the outgoing board members and volunteers who make up the many valuable community programs.

“We have had a very successful year and will continue to promote and enhance the programs.  The Williams Lake Community Policing team is always looking for volunteers who would like to join and continue to assist making Williams Lake a very safe community,” he said. “Crime in our community continues to drop.

“If anyone is interested in volunteering, you are asked to stop by the Williams Lake Detachment and pick an application or contact the Safer Community Coordinator at 250 392-8701 to discuss the many opportunities.

“To all our community and volunteer member, thank you for your support and on behalf of the Williams Lake members and support staff, I wish each and every one a very Merry Christmas.”
