cindy_bouchardShortly after 4:00pm on October 14, Chief Election Officer Cindy Bouchard, presented the 'Declaration of Candidates' which included three Mayoral nominees and 14 City Councillor hopefuls.

The deadline for candidates to withdraw is 4:00pm on October 21.

Election Day is November 19, with advance voting opportunities on November 9 and November 16.

The City of Williams Lake encourages voting by providing electors with two advance voting opportunities and special voting opportunities for residents of seniors residential facilities. A total of 3,857 of the 7,769 eligible electors voted in the 2005 General Local Election for voter turnout of 49.6%.  Numbers were down slightly in 2008 - A total of 2,989 of the 6,682 eligible electors voted for a voter turnout of 44.7%.
