Cataline and Seniors Village: ‘2 Cool for School’
| Events |
The inter-generational program at Cataline Elementary School and the Williams Lake Seniors Village had its official kick-off last week. The students will spend their school days at the Seniors Village for the month of October, sharing educational experiences, crafts and activities with residents at the Village. The kids voted to call the program ‘2 Cool for School.’
(Williams Lake Senior Village resident Pat Houghton-Brown and Cataline student Hunter Mennie were paired as ‘buddies.’)
Residents were paired with students in a ‘buddy system’ that will allow them to get to know each other one-on-one, as well as enjoy group activities. They will have the opportunity to listen to presentations, engage in classroom activities like spelling bees, and enjoy Halloween parties.
(Helen Matlock and Kianna Haselhan will have the opportunity this month to learn about each other’s lives and experiences.)
