Thunder Mountain Speedway year-end wrap up

Thunder Mountain Speedway hosted their 2009 Recognition Awards Banquet Saturday. Master of Ceremonies, Art Rauschenberger, started the well-attended event with the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to the many loyal sponsors and volunteers who make each season a rousing success.
Most Sportsman Like Driver was awarded to Marius Dunford, Rookie of the Year went to Darren Lennox and the most Supportive Driver overall classes went to Marius as well, and Lynn Dunford was awarded Most Supportive Member.
In Street Stocks, Bob Lowen took 1st Place Points Champion, Arnie Kunka took second, Ryley Seibert took third and Bob Lowen won Best Appearing Car & Crew, Most Improved Driver and Most Sportsman Like Driver.
In Thunder Class, Jesse Fisher won 1st Place Points Champion, with Brad Bednarz in 2nd and Lenny Todd in 3rd. Derek Christenson took Best Appearing Car & Crew, Most Improved Driver and Rookie of the Year, and Willy Frank won Most Sportsman Like Driver.

Tim Roberts won Heartland Toyota Pro Minis 1st Place Points Champion, with Marius Dunford in 2nd and Darren Lennox in third. Marius won Best Appearing Car & Crew and Most Sportsman Like Driver and Darren took Most Improved Driver and Rookie of the Year.
In Bone Stock Minis, 1st Place Points Champion was won by Matt Gertzen, 2nd was taken by George Giesbrecht and 3rd place was won by Sean Bruce. Matt also won Best Appearing Car & Crew, Justin Gertzen won Most Improved Driver, George Giesbrecht took the Most Sportsman Like Driver award and Sean Bruce won Rookie of the Year.
On a more somber note, event-goers observed a moment of silence for fallen racers Lenny Todd, Trevor Fisher and Ernie Engemoen. Resigning Executives, Art Rauschenberger and Beth Mulder also welcomed the new members of the Board.
The new board is as follows: President Marius Dunford; Vice President Bob Lowen; Past President Art Rauschenberger; Treasurer Cheryl Pope; Secretary Lynn Dunford; and Directors Arnold Fontaine, Arnie Kunka, Tiffany Flannigan, Jesse Fisher, Latisha Fisher, George Giesbrecht, Tim Taylor, and Darren Lennox.
