Williams Lake Trail Riders Gymkhana winners

The Williams Lake Trail Riders Gymkhana yesterday included keyhole, speed barrels, regular barrels, stakes and pole bending, with participants that included two Williams Lake Queen contestants: Miss Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Bobi Bracewell and Miss Cariboo Spurs Apparel and Tack Alexia Colton.
"Our classes are based on age and participants include small children who are led on ponies to riders who compete in barrel racing all over BC," explained organizer LeeAnn Crosina. "Contestants are welcome to come in and walk it, trot it - whatever they want."
In the 6-and-under class yesterday Kagen Russell took first, Kaycee Huffman came in second and Cassidy Huffman took third. In the 7-11 age category Amber Nyman and John Noskey tied for first place and Reese Rivet took second. In the 12-16 class Caitlyn Flynn came in first, James Evans took second and Tianna Johnny and Morgan Black tied for third.
Nicole Hoessl took first in the 17-24 class on ‘Fly’, Punky Mulvahill came in second, Nicole Hoessl on ‘Bubbles’ took third, Melisa Rosette came in 4th and Nicole Roberts took 5th place. The winner in the 25-39 class was Nikki Fuller, and in the 40+ class Dennis Gunn came in first, Al Wilson took 2nd, Bridget Rosette came in 3rd, Lana Shields took 4th and Pat Coster and Sarah Roberts tied for 5th place.

In the Open Jackpot Nicole Hoessl took first in Barrels, with Dennis Gunn taking second and Shelly Colton in third place. Dennis Gunn came in first in Poles, with Shelly Colton in second place and Nicole Hoessl in third.
Nicole Hoessl came in first in the Stake Race, with Dennis Gunn in second and Punky Mulvahill in third place. In Speed Barrels Dennis Gunn came in first, Punky Mulvahill took second and Lexi Colton took third place.
In the Keyhole Race Nicole Hoessl took first place Shelly Colton came in second and Punky Mulvahill came in third.
There are six gymkhanas throughout the season, which extends from April 24 to October 22, and the next will be on July 10 at the Williams Lake Trail Riders Arena.
