Drugs, guns and cash seized in Terrace

Terrace, BC - RCMP Federal North District Drug Section executed three search warrants in Terrace seizing cocaine, marijuana, approximately $17,000 cash and several weapons. A 38 year-old Prince Rupert man and a 33 year-old Terrace man were arrested in connection to this drug investigation.
On Friday September 25, 2009 a 38 year-old Prince Rupert man was stopped during a traffic stop which revealed 1 ounce of cocaine and led to further investigation which resulted in RCMP obtaining three search warrants.
On Saturday September 26, 2009 RCMP officers executed two search warrants: one in the 3800 block of Dobbie Street in Terrace, BC, and the other in the 4700 block of Straume Avenue, Terrace, BC. As a result of the search warrant execution on Dobbie Street, officers found and seized 3.5 grams of cocaine, approximately $7000 cash, a hand gun, shot gun and two rifles, as well as drug packaging equipment. The Straume Avenue search warrant resulted in a one kilogram cocaine seizure packaged for street level distribution.
As a result of the above two search warrants RCMP officers executed a further search warrant on a residence and shed in the 4800 block of Walsh Avenue, Terrace, BC. The search of the shed revealed a 26-plant marijuana grow operation, and 1.5 kilograms of cocaine. Also seized on the property was approximately $10,000 cash, drug packaging equipment such as a cocaine press and digital scale, and a 500 gram bottle of Benzocaine cutting agent, a substance used to mix with cocaine to maximize the seller’s profit. Arrested at the scene was a 33 year-old Terrace man.
“Members of the RCMP will continue to target anyone involved in the illegal drug trade by intercepting and dismantling drug operations. The drug trade has an incredibly negative impact on our communities therefore the RCMP will go out of its way to ensure the safety of our youth and families,” says Corporal Jagdev Uppal
