100 Mile House RCMP highlights to April 26, 2010

The 100 Mile House RCMP responded to 54 complaints and call for service over the last week.
100 Mile House RCMP have recently received complaints from a local business regarding two counterfeit bills. Both suspected counterfeit bills were forwarded to the Counterfeit Document Section in Ottawa for analysis. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
On April 22, 100 Mile House RCMP executed a search warrant pursuant to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act on a property in the 4400 block of Canim Hendrix Lake Road. 328 marijuana plants in various stages of production, 24 pounds of dried marijuana and marijuana production equipment were seized. A male was located in the residence and he was arrested. Charges of Production Of Marijuana and Possession Of Marijuana For The Purpose Of Trafficking are being recommended against a 41 year old resident of the Lower Mainland, with a court date in July.
On April 23, 100 Mile House RCMP received information that a male wanted on outstanding warrants was living in 100 Mile House. John Gifford, 29 years old, was located and arrested on two warrants out of Hope, B.C. for Assault Causing Bodily Harm and one warrant out of 100 Mile House for Impaired Driving. Gifford was held in custody until April 26, pending a bail hearing at 100 Mile House Provincial Court.
On April 24, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a mischief complaint at the Junior Secondary School. A group of four youth were identified as taking a large tire and rolling it through a chain link fence. A total of three sections of fencing were damaged. The youth were detained and were subsequently released to their parents. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
On April 24, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a request by the 100 Mile House Fire Department to assist with traffic control when a construction company struck a gas line on Caribou Trail. Several home owners in the area were advised of the situation and voluntarily left their residences. Other occupants were advised to stay indoors with their windows and doors closed. 100 Mile House Fire Department assumed perimeter security until the repairs were made to the gas line.
On April 25, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to an alarm at Peter Skene Ogden High School. Several windows had been smashed and entry had been gained to the school. It didn't appear that anything had been taken. Two youth were interviewed, but denied involvement. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
